Busy May:
The Hay Festival has been and gone. The hottest (in every sense) that I can remember! I want to thank all the lovely people who came to Lady of Hay’s ‘Birthday Bash’. It was fabulous to see so many of you there, and to meet you at the book signing afterwards. And Danny Robins Haunted Hay was a blast. It was great to meet him in person after listening to so many of his Uncanny programmes. There was so much going on that we ran out of time at the end and there wasn’t space for all of the Hay ghost stories! But ghosts have a tendency to hang around to await their moment, as we all know! So maybe there will be another time.
Now family and friends have gone home – half term is over – and the empty notebook for the newly-announced sequel to Lady of Hay is waiting for me on my desk. Well, not quite empty. I have begun to write it! There is a taster in the form of the first chapter tucked into the end of the 40th Anniversary edition of L of H, and that chapter can also be found in the new BE Newsletter to which so many of you have already signed up.
And now I’m looking forward to the publication of The Valley of Ravens at the end of July and our celebration launch which will take place at – where else – Hay Castle!
